Reasons to Learn English
Actually, one can’t really formulate a table listing all the reasons required for learning English. Still, it is convenient to take a look at some of the characteristics that still makes it one of the most important languages in the world. English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. When people with different languages come face-to-face, they use English as a common language to communicate. Knowing English makes one bilingual and thus raise one’s chances of employability practically in every country in the world. The United States of America is a leader in the field of technology, and a robust economy. It is an English speaking nation, and dealings with either of the two fields(I.e. technology, finance) in or with America would require the knowledge of English. English is a common language throughout the world largely due to Great Britain’s expansionist policy in the colonial days. It used to be said that the sun never sets on the British Empire so huge was its territory. Naturally, all these territories(now independent nations) know the language. Somehow, English has also become the language of science. If one is to make any headway in international science then English is required. English speakers in the United States earn more than non English speakers.
